WHO WE ARE

A Little History

Established in 1994, and for the ten years that followed, our facility was known as Post Production Playground or PPP to our friends and repeat clientele.

With no money or contacts, starting out with just one office and a laptop, PPP's founders Eitan Hakami and Katia Milani created what is now a major player in New York, located in the Brill building at 1619 Broadway. Starting with low budget, no budget, and student films PPP quickly caught the eye of editorial crews and producers serving the Hollywood and Independent Film communities, who were increasingly disappointed with the bigger facilities, and desperately seeking sensitive pricing, quality controlled products, and personalized service.

Reinvesting its profits, while refining its expertise, PPP steadily grew its clientele, personnel, and equipment. Ultimately, the company grew to own a Telecine suite, 5 Avids, advanced dubbing and audio equipment. In 2000, the company purchased the Broadway Screening Room, adjacent to its Brill Building facilities.

By 2003, PPP had developed a loyal following and impeccable reputation amongst the Independent and Hollywood Film communities. The company quickly became known as the most quality controlled, and service oriented boutique facility on the East Coast for Film to Tape Video Dailies, Post Production Supervision, the Screening Room, and Avid Rental. PPP and The Broadway Screening Room became, as some have labeled it, The Gold Standard.

With its consistent quality, reliability, and unmatched service, PPP became, and still is, a thorn in the side of bigger facilities and local laboratories who often lose big budget features and commercial video dailies to the "little boutique that could."

In 2004, the company was tapped by Brazilian entity Estudios Mega, a major player in the Post Production arena in Brazil, who was looking for a foothold in New York. Estudios Mega purchased a substantial, but nonetheless minority, equity stake in the little boutique operation. Thus, the company was renamed to what is known today as Creative Mega Playground.

Today

Always in motion, and with the help of its investors, Creative Mega Playground has recently made some huge leaps to diversify the company's services, expand its clientele, and take the company to the next level. In addition to its midtown operation, Creative Mega Playground opened a downtown operation called Village Mega Playground, located at 609 Greenwich St. The company can now serve clients in midtown or downtown depending on their preference.

The Village location will be developed to provide amongst other things:

  • Film to Tape Facilities
  • HD Online Facilities
  • Avid Offline Suites
  • Audio Facilities
  • Production Office Space
  • TV Production

The company has also increased its technical staff, editorial talent, and administrative staff, to support its expanding new infrastructure.
